Patient classification in critical care nursing

intensive care nursing is the provision of specialized care for critically ill patients or patients with the potential to become critical – that is, those who have or are susceptible to serious illness or injury. These patients may be unstable, have complex needs and require intensive care nurses and guards. The Ministry of Health classifies patients into levels of care from hospital 0-3:
• Level 0 is the unit normal care • Level 1 is the intensive care unit with acute critical care specialists, eg. extension. This may be necessary due to the discharge of a recent critical care unit, or because the patient’s condition or medical device used in his speech growing media attention is required. • Level 2 is the patient with high dependency care, which require a higher level of supervision due to their condition or the possibility of damage or single organ failure patients (more…)
